Reverend  Dr.  Amos Williams, Jr. 

Identifiable characteristics of a pastor are an empathetic nature, knowledgeable, caring and loving. Dr. Amos Williams Jr. evidences all these qualities. He is a native of Amite, Louisiana. He has been married to Diana B. Williams for 39 years. God has blessed them with two children and three grand-children. He completed Amite High school in 1973. In 1978, this scholar graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.

Before answering the call to ministry, he served 27 years in pharmaceutical sales, and four with the Quaker Oats Company. In 2002 he earned a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana.   Dr. Williams received his doctoral degree in expository preaching from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2016.

Dr. Williams was called to the Gospel ministry in 1993 and ordained in 1995. In sharing his testimony with transparency, Pastor Williams stated his life was a mess and he was living life under a mask. Thanks to a dear friend who challenged his Christianity, he came to know the Lord. He stated:

“Instantly my life was changed, and I came to know the peace and joy that living a Christian life can provide.”

Over the past eighteen years, Pastor Williams has served the Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Marietta, Georgia. Pastor Williams as never met a stranger and has open arms for all. Through his wit, charismatic personality and passion for passion, he has been winning souls for Jesus. Dr. Williams, always looking for opportunities to serve, feels this focus will impact the community. His pastimes are spending time with his family, teaching and preaching God’s word to God’s people.
